A bear cub named Violet visits Phoebe’s big garden party, where all the friends give away baskets and bowls of fresh fruits and vegetables. Violet tells Phoebe there are no gardens where she lives, at the far end of Blueberry Lane.
This conversation inspires Phoebe to come up with one of her “ideas” – she and her friends will plant a community garden in an overgrown field near Violet’s house. The cub’s parents (Honey and Garth) and an elderly hippo (Flora Lee) volunteer to help.
To begin the project, Willie enlists Autumn, a caterpillar, to clear leaves from the messy field. Then the hard work kicks in. Will Phoebe and the others be able to turn an empty plot of dirt into a thriving garden? Will Phoebe’s magic seeds spring forth tasty vegetables and sweet yummy fruits? Will Autumn transform from a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly?
