It’s early summer and sweltering on Blueberry Lane. Phoebe and her friends are doing everything they can to stay cool – running through sprinklers, drinking lemonade and iced tea, lounging on shady hammocks – but not much is helping.
Phoebe has a sudden inspiration, a surefire way to escape the heat: they’ll fly to the far off mountains in a hot air balloon! Tiger and Oliver get to work building their aircraft as Willie studies a map of how many hills and rivers they need to cross on the journey. Jessie and Autumn – as experienced flyers familiar with wind currents – lead the way as the entire gang heads off in the newly-built hot air balloon.
On the trip, Phoebe and her friends spot a mother deer and her fawn who’ve been stranded atop a high hill in a flooded valley. Will they be able to rescue the deer and reunite them with their family? Will they reach the cool mountain meadows and complete their summer adventure?
